ActionAid Zimbabwe

ActionAid Zimbabwe invites applications from drivers interested in registering with the organisation on a casual/part-time basis. The casual drivers will be required to provide logistics & support services in the absence of the organisational driver both in Harare and in areas where the organisation operates.

DUTIES

  • Management of the vehicle(s): driving AAZ vehicles as per the AAZ policies and procedures, the Road Traffic Act of Zimbabwe and other applicable rules and regulations, instructions and guidelines.
  • To ensure AAZ vehicles are clean all the time making them hospitable for passengers and to maintain the image of AAZ.
  • Update the logbook after every trip.
  • Security – To know and apply the rules of AAZ vehicle policy (deadlines, speed limits, passenger transportation, seat belt fastened etc.) To adapt his speed to the road statement and load carried – To report orally or by written if requested to all kind of incidents or observations during the movement related to passengers, authorities, with the beneficiaries, the AAZ staff or AAZ belongings. – To collaborate on all security on issues with the Admin Department.
  • Check validity of vehicle insurance covers, road license and Police inspection stickers.
  • Specific Reporting – To report to Admin Department any mechanical problem, Service and Mileage.

REQUIREMENTS

  • O level certificate with English language,
  • At least 4 years’ driving experience,
  • Class 2/4 driver’s license and a valid defensive driving certificate/4 x 4 Driving Certificate, Experience in NGO setting an added advantage,
  • Highly professional and presentable.
