Responsibilities

Planning and tracking shipments: Logistics administrators are responsible for planning and tracking shipments, from the initial order to the final delivery. This includes coordinating with suppliers, carriers, and customers, as well as managing inventory levels and ensuring that products are delivered on time and in good condition.
Managing inventory: Logistics administrators are also responsible for managing inventory levels, which involves tracking incoming and outgoing shipments, as well as forecasting demand. This helps to ensure that the company has the right amount of inventory on hand to meet customer demand without overstocking.
Processing orders: Logistics administrators are responsible for processing orders, which includes entering order information into the company’s computer system, generating shipping labels, and tracking the status of orders.
Communicating with customers: Logistics administrators are also responsible for communicating with customers about the status of their orders. This may involve providing updates on shipping times, answering questions about the order process, or resolving any problems that may arise.
Maintaining records: Logistics administrators are responsible for maintaining accurate records of all shipments, orders, and inventory levels. This information is important for tracking the company’s performance, identifying areas for improvement, and complying with government regulations.
Qualifications

Education:

A bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is typically required for entry-level position

Experience:

  • Some experience in logistics or supply chain management is preferred, but not required.
  • Relevant experience can be gained through internships, volunteer work, or entry-level positions in the logistics industry.

Skills:

  • Logistics administrators must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • They must also be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Additionally, logistics administrators must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, as well as logistics software programs.
