Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time health care assistant to work in the Undergraduate Department. The successful candidate will demonstrate a range of essential health care skills to meet the needs of patients in a safe caring environment. They will support the Undergraduate Team and teaching colleagues by setting up equipment for clinical teaching and medical student examinations.
Main duties of the job
This is a busy and demanding role, so candidates will need to be enthusiastic, highly motivated and have a flexible approach to their role to ensure the needs of the service are met.
Applicants should be able to work under pressure using their own initiative.
Applicants should also have excellent organisational and communication skills to ensure all deadlines are achieved.
The job role will include some cross site working and applicants should have the ability to travel independently.

- NVQ Level 3 Health Care Assistant or working towards
- Evidence of continued education
Knowledge, Skills, Experience
Essential
- Communicates well in person, telephone and writing
- Knowledge of basic medical equipment and consumables
- Good IT skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Desirable
- Experience of ordering using Supply Chain. eprocurement
- Familiarity of NHS IT systems
- Knowledge of specific software, eg Attend Anywhere, SMOTS
