Reporting to the Operations Manager, the main function of the role is to manage and control the whole warehousing function, which will include managing and controlling goods in the warehouse, effective stock control, implementation of Q-SHE rules in the warehouse, and warehouse maintenance.
Without the list being exhaustive, your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring a work environment that is compliant with health, safety, and security regulations, as well as industry best practices and policies. Together with the Q-SHE Officer, you will provide on the job training to warehouse staff regarding occupational health, safety, and security in the workplace.
- Ensuring that warehouse staff comply with the company’s rules. You will maintain a daily staff register, and prepare weekly timesheets.
- Managing and controlling goods in storage. Filling a monthly stock count report, and ensuring effective stock control of packing material. You will be responsible for warehouse maintenance.
- Under the instruction of the Operations Manager, you will prepare instructions, packing material, and equipment necessary for a move, including long-term storage crates.
Candidate Profile / Qualification
- A higher-education qualification in a relevant subject would be an advantage, but is not a necessity.
- You must have at least 2 years’ experience in warehouse management.
- The candidate must be fluent in English.
- Extensive knowledge of legislation, regulations, and best practices governing warehouse management (including health, safety, and security);
- Exceptional interpersonal skills; Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and comfortable with learning the company’s storage system.
