Job summary

2 X 20 hr posts for a nursing assistant to support the MIU team at Berwick Infirmary

The successful candidate must be flexible to meet the needs of the service

This post is for and based at Berwick infirmary but there may be a very odd occasion where there is a need to work on another site therefore flexibility is required.

Main duties of the job

To support the team on the delivery of care.

To support with simple dressings.

Support with weekly supplies ordering.

May be required to book patents onto PAS (training will be provided).

Job responsibilities

To assist the qualified nursing staff in the delivery of high quality direct and indirect patient care.

To provide assistance and support to patients, carers and the multi-disciplinary team.

To maintain high clinical standards.

To help maintain a clean and safe ward environment.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health/Health & Social Care/Direct Care or portfolio of equivalent experience
  • Courses and experience that demonstrate transferable skills i.e. respiratory essentials, basic stoma care, palliative care course for HCAs
