Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Healthcare assistant to join our friendly and dynamic nurse-led team on Pelican Ambulatory.
This is a day care unit which cares for children and young people with Dermatological (skin) and Rheumatological (joint and muscle) conditions. The unit also provides treatments for children with infectious diseases and some immunological disorders. Working with a number of specialities means that every day is different, and that there is lots of opportunity to learn new skills.
Pelican Ambulatory is open Monday to Friday. The successful applicant will work no nights, weekends or bank holidays. The shift pattern can be flexible and can be discussed with the manager.
Main duties of the job
The HCA will be responsible for taking bloods, inserting peripheral cannulas and helping undertake patient assessments. The HCA will be a valued member of the team and support the overall running of the unit.
If you are currently competent in cannulation and venepuncture or would be interested in receiving training in this area of expertise, this role may be for you.
