ROLE PROFILE
AFC Commercial Bank, a subsidiary of AFC Holdings seeks to recruit an Anti-Money Laundering Officer. Reporting to the Compliance Manager, the AML Officer will be responsible for assisting management in ensuring that the Bank operates in accordance to all legal and regulatory requirements and international standards relating to anti-money laundering. This will include all issues relating to countering terrorist financing, countering proliferation financing, anti-bribery controls and sanctions management in order to protect and enhance the reputation of the Bank.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Anti-Money Laundering (AML)/ Countering Terrorist Financing (CFT)/ Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction (CPF) Risk Assessment, Reporting and Training. Financial Crime Compliance Risk Management. Transaction monitoring, testing, and control.
- Developing and reviewing policies and procedure manuals relating to all aspects of Anti-Money Laundering.
- Providing advice and awareness in relation to regulation around Anti-Money Laundering. Know Your Customer (KYC)/Customer Due Diligence.
Job Skills and Competencies
Experience in developing and documenting processes and procedures in AML.
Strong analytical ability and understanding of laws and regulations.
Proactive and reactive quick-thinking.
Communication and presentation skills -both oral and written.
Attention to detail and time management.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor of Laws/Banking & Finance/Risk/Business Studies /Accounting Relevant professional certification such as Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist or Certified
- Compliance Professional or Certified Global Sanctions Specialist.
- At least 2 years of experience in the financial services sector preferably in relation to Anti Money
- Laundering Surveillance, Sanctions, and/or Financial Crimes
- Compliance. Knowledge of Commercial Banking business systems, rules and regulations is a distinct advantage.
