Due to the increasing demand in our Paediatric ED Department, we are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team in Paediatric ED

We are looking for experienced, proactive, innovative, and motivated Health Care Assistants to join our friendly and dedicated team to provide quality nursing care and to support our children, young people, and their families.

Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, the Health Care Assistant will work with all members of the multi disciplinary team to contribute to the provision of the highest standards of care delivery.

The successful candidates will be flexible, a team player and must have experience of working in a Health Service environment.

You will work closely with the paediatric Department.

The Paediatric Unit comprises of a 17 bedded Inpatient ward, 4 bedded Surgical and Medical Day case ward and a 6 bedded Paediatric Assessment and Observation ward. We also have an Outpatient department. There is also Paediatric Specialist Nurses services and a Children’s Community nursing Outreach Team.

Main duties of the job

Work with all members of the multi-disciplinary team to deliver the Trust’s vision and values providing safe, high quality, compassionate, person centred care.

Undertake and develop a specified range of clinical skills appropriate to the speciality with appropriate training to be able to at times use own initiative delivering patient care, with supervision available.

Acute care is provided at Southport and Formby District General Hospital and Ormskirk and District General Hospital. This includes adults’ and children’s accident and emergency services, intensive care and a range of medical and surgical specialities. Women’s and children’s services, including maternity, are provided at Ormskirk hospital.

The North West Regional Spinal Injuries Centre at Southport hospital provides specialist care for spinal patients from across the North West, North Wales and the Isle of Man.

The Trust also provides sexual health services for the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton.
