Chimanimani Rural District Council is a local government authority responsible for providing public services to the Chimanimani District of Zimbabwe.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accountant: Revenue to join our team at Chimanimani Rural District Council.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of revenue collection and management, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards, and working closely with other departments to ensure effective financial management. You will report to the Treasurer.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement revenue collection strategies for Chimanimani Rural District Council, in line with the council’s overall financial goals.
Manage accounts receivable and payable, ensuring that all revenue is collected and managed accurately and efficiently.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards relating to revenue collection and management.
Work closely with other departments to ensure that revenue is collected and managed in an effective and transparent manner.
Manage the reconciliation of revenue accounts, ensuring that all revenue is properly accounted for and recorded.
Prepare and present financial reports related to revenue collection and management to senior management and council members.
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
Monitor revenue collection performance and identify areas for improvement, implementing changes as necessary.
Manage the council’s cash flow, ensuring that sufficient funds are available to meet financial obligations.
Assist with the preparation of the council’s annual budget and financial statements.
Manage and develop a team of finance professionals, providing leadership, guidance, and support as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
BSc Honours Accounting Degree or equivalent from a recognised higher learning institution
Studying towards a Masters Degree or any professional course is an added advantage
Higher National Diploma in Accounting is an added advantage
5 years and above of experience in a related position in a Rural District Council
Clean Drivers License
At least 28 years of age.
