We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Healthcare Assistants to join our friendly team of Theatre practitioners. We are looking for Healthcare Assistants with a flexible approach to shift patterns to Support surgical team and patients groups .To be able to work independently and contribute to the best possible use of resources .Part of the responsibility is to communicate factual information not only to patients ,but also the multi-disciplinary team . Also be responsible for maintaining accurate , timely and complete records, both manually /electronically, ensuring the safety and confidentiality of information at all times.
Be able to use the scan for 4safety IT system, also can use own initiative and promote staff wellbeing .
Main duties of the job
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to facilitate change. You will have the opportunity to escort patients from Theatre Admission Lounge to theatre . Some of your duties will involve manual handling /transferring unconscious patient from operating table to a bed or patient trolley . Clearing up between cases disposing of clinical waste in the appropriate bins.
Assisting in the patient safety check list for each case , using the scan for 4safety IT system, be able to use own initiative and promote privacy/dignity ,keep clinical area tidy /clean when necessary.
Check all the theatre medical devices at the start of the day and to be comply at all times with the requirements of the Health and Safety regulations and trust’s policies and procedures /stock up theatre on a daily bases. Collect surgical instruments needed for the next day operating list ,

Education/Qualification
Essential criteria
- GCSE
- literacy and numeracy

- Good Literacy skills
- cannulation and phlebotomy
Knowledge and understanding

- Awareness of the role and remit of care of peri-operative patients
