Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for A Health Care Support Worker to join the busy forward thinking Maxillofacial Department at Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is required to carry out a range of assigned tasks involving direct and indirect care for the benefit of the patient. Will be in support of and supervised by a registered nurse. The post holder will be expected to carry out a range of assigned clinical and organizational tasks with the highest standard to support and enable staff to provide patient care, which reflects the quality of the standards and mission of the Maxillofacial Department and the Health Board.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Job responsibilities
- Taking responsibility and accountability for own practice and behaviour.
- Attending to the hygiene needs of patients e.g. assisting patients with toileting.
- To communicate the delays with waiting times to the patients
- Support patients throughout examinations supporting their privacy and dignity
- Being knowledgeable about and adhering to health and safety policies regarding the correct handling/ disposal of bodily fluids and clinical waste.
- Using initiative when caring for patients.
- Maintaining all nursing equipment in working order and report any loss, damage, defects or misuse.
- Working in a professional manner at all times maintaining the principles of confidentiality as appropriate.
Maintain personal safety at all times and report any areas of concern to line manager.
