An exciting opportunity has come up for two Band 3 Healthcare Assistants to join our current team within the Outpatient Department at The Countess of Chester Hospital.

The Outpatients Department covers clinics from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday with some Saturday working.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will be expected to work within a variety of clinical area’s with a focus on Respiratory in OPD along with working elsewhere when needed.

Under supervision and direction of the Clinicians assist in delivery of the safe, high-quality care to all patients, along with working independently.

Maintaining adequate stock levels. Maintaining a clean environment.

Applicants need to have the appropriate qualifications listed on the person specification or be working towards them.

A recognised qualification in spirometry is desirable, but not essential, as training will be provided.

We are looking for flexible & dynamic staff to join our team.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £23 (standard) or £43 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first three months of employment.

New entrants to the NHS will commence on the minimum of the scale stated above.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care
  • Numeric and Literacy Skills

Desirable

  • A1/A2 assessor qualification or willingness to undertake
  • Recognised qualification in spirometry

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Understanding of quality and change in the clinical setting
  • An understanding of organisation of nursing care
  • Basic IT Skills
  • Mandatory training up to date
  • Knowledge of area and current pressures
  • Understanding of quality and change in the clinical setting
  • Willingness to undertake clinical skills required of the speciality
  • Basic understanding of NHS issues

Desirable

  • Can provide evidence of achieved competency in key clinical skills.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare position in a general outpatient setting or experience within respiratory
