Job summary

  • The Nursing Assistant will assist in the provision of a high level of care in all clinical areas under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
  • Will work in a collaborative manner with a large multi-disciplinary team to ensure delivery of the Endoscopy service.
  • Develop and maintain good patient care, organisational skills and assist with the provision of an environment conducive to clinical excellence.
  • Aim to develop both personally and professionally to achieve their maximum potential.
  • It is essential that the post holder can work within a diverse team while being able to organise their own day to day work tasks and activities.
  • Will be required to work variable hours, over a seven day week, on a week by week basis, within agreed limits.
  • To assist in the maintenance of highly specialized and expensive equipment.

Main duties of the job

An exciting position has become available within Endoscopy for a Nursing Assistant. The successful candidate would be able to carry out all aspects of patient care. Additionally the successful candidate would learn various new skills for example- the decontamination process of endoscopes, work alongside the Staff Nurse and Dr within the procedure room, basic airway management of the patient, finally work in the recovery area within endoscopy. Endoscopy has a fantastic team culture, offers flexible working and encourages staff to develop within their role if that is what the individual desires.
