Lincoln Dialysis Unit

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated Renal Health Care Assistant.You must have experience working in the NHS and hold an NVQ3 or equivalent. Good written and oral communication skills and the ability to work within a team is essential. Training in haemodialysis will be given and we promote an environment in which you can develop further skills.

You must be able to work flexible shift patterns to suit the needs of the unit.

The unit is open from 07:00-23:00 Mon – Sat. Shift pattern includes 3 X 10hrs and 1 X 7.5hrs.

Main duties of the job

Support the Qualified nurses in providing safe and effective care to patients receiving Haemodialysis.

Undertake clinical duties including cannulation, commencing and disconnecting dialysis treatment under the direction of a registered nurse.

Ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained within the department.

Work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Job responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and non-clinical support to the Multi Professional team under the direction of an appropriate Registered Health Care Professional.
  • Deliver direct and indirect care as delegated under the direction and supervision of an appropriate Registered Health Care Professional.
  • Support the delivery of effective healthcare to patients/ service users by undertaking duties as identified by the Multi Professional Team.
  • Undertake specified and unsupervised aspects of care and therapeutic intervention as delegated by the Registered Health Care Professional within an agreed protocol, sphere of responsibility and after completing appropriate competency based training agreed by the Trust.
