We are a busy outpatient department treating patients with Urological conditions.
As a Band 3 nursing assistant you will have great opportunity to build upon your existing knowledge and skills . Being welcomed as apart of our happy team dynamic you will assist the Doctors and Nurses running clinics Monday to Friday with the occasional weekends
Main duties of the job
As a member of the team you will help the registered members of staff to provide a high standard of care to the patients in the Urology outpatient area .
To contribute to the safe ,efficient and smooth running of the outpatient environment.
To work as part of outpatient team in maintaining services provided to patients
To maintain the dignity and privacy of all patients and respect their rights to confidentially
To record the assessment provided and care given to patients in an accurate way that meets legal requirements
To assist within outpatient to meet non clinical aspects aspect of patient care as required .
To complete a portfolio of probation/beginner clinical competencies and to review progress with OPD manager and supervisor at regular intervals and through appraisals

Job description
Job responsibilities
To assist either a nurse practitioner or medical colleague in the delivery of diagnostic procedures of prostate biopsies and flexible cystoscopies .
To perform urinary flow rates and bladder scans for patients attending clinics and upload results onto EPR .
Ensure all specimens are labelled correctly and sent to the laboratories in a timely manner
Undertake minor dressings and treatments whilst under the supervision of a registered nurse
Under the supervision of a registered nurse develop skills in order to perform and record clinical observations and have an awareness of their relevance
To give direct care o patients and to asist them with their personal care needs . This may involve maintaining hygiene needs for individuals and assisting with toileting needs maintaining privacy and dignity at all times .
To develop maintain and improve knowledge and skills required to carry out all agreed aspects of patient care completley . This may involve in -house train in as agreed with outpatient manager .
When working with a registered practitioner is able to assess patients needs and develop knowledge and understanding that provides the assessment
Assist patients to mobilise safely using equipment and techniques as prescribed in the plan
To arcuately feedback to registered nurse practitioner the care given to patients during their clinic attendance and of any changes in the patients condition
To demonstrate time management skills of time management and to be able to prioritise and organise own work load with the support from aregistered practitioner .
Help maintain high standards of cleanliness of equipment and acsessories in addition to keeping examination rooms and changing areas clean tidy and stoked
