Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the above post, which has arisen in our Engineering Department at Cashel Valley (Mutare).
THE Job
Reporting to the Foreman (Charge hand), the successful applicant will among other key duties be responsible for:
Carries out breakdown or preventative maintenance to the set standard.
Assesses machinery and identifies possible problems. Attends to machinery breakdowns timeously.
Ensures that daily plant checks are carried out as per the checklist.
Investigates and determine the root cause of any breakdown and give feedback to the responsible supervisor.
Installs and commissions new equipment and refurbishes of old equipment. Check diesel and water levels of production and ablution tanks and advise.
Observes all rules, regulations, and procedures relating to safe operations in the organization and timely report any deviations to ensure safety.
Requests for all electrical spare requirements and follow-up for spares requested for purchase through the planning office.
Collects and submits all job cards and timesheets daily to the supervisor.
Implements plant mechanical modification.
Record compressor meter readings daily.
Ensures that plant availability targets are met on a shift basis. Complete all engineering reports and condition monitoring sheets timeously.
THE PERSON
The ideal applicant should possess the following minimum qualifications and attributes:
NC Certificate Electrical Engineering.
Journeyman Class one.
Must have sound knowledge of bearing installation, basic programming, basic
fitting, and turning.
A minimum of 2 years related work experience.
