Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC)

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) is an Independent Electoral Management Body established in terms of Section 238 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe. One of its functions is to manage and conduct elections to the offices of President, Parliament and Local Authorities, and Referendums, and all related electoral processes in accordance with the laws of Zimbabwe and international best practice.

The Commission wishes to recruit professionals of high integrity with good communication and decision-making skills, and sound knowledge of electoral democracy to fill vacancies that have arisen in the institution.

Applications are invited for the following posts: –

JOB TITLE : ICT, Voter Registration and Delimitation Officers x 8
REPORTS TO : District Elections Officer
STATION : Chivi (1), Mt Darwin (1), Lupane (1), Harare (3) and Bulawayo(2) Districts
GRADE : 8/7

Summary of Responsibilities

Installing, configuring, testing, upgrading and maintaining all ICT hardware and software;
Facilitating digital integration of voter registration processes and other office systems and processes;
Facilitating biometric voter registration of the citizens;
Providing efficient and error free data take-on services;
Providing information technology user support services and training;
Conducting voter registration;
Carrying out Voter registration trainings;
Facilitating demarcation and mapping of Constituency, Ward and polling station specific boundaries in a District;
Drafting voter registration and delimitation reports;
Initiating voter registration activity budgets;
Carrying out any other ZEC function as may be assigned.

Qualifications/ Job Specifications

HND or Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science, Rural and Urban Planning, Cartography or other relevant and equivalent qualification.
Possession of a clean Class 4 driver’s licence
