Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an inspirational and motivated Health Care Assistant to join our dedicated team in the Emergency Department at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals.

The successful candidate will be supported by both our nursing and medical team and essential training for the role will be provided. The role will have a set programme of learning for 6 months as a health care assistant with a view to review at this point and plan to develop skills and progress to a band 3 emergency department assistant if performance levels are achieved.

You must be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of healthcare professionals and be enthusiastic and passionate about delivery of high quality care. As a health care assistant within theteam,your role will be assisting our patients with everyday tasks which involve maintaining a good oral intake, assisting with personal hygiene, and escorting patients to various procedures whilst also assisting both our medical and nursing teams deliver treatment.

Ability to develop effective interpersonal relationships with colleagues in the health care setting.

Carry out clinical interventions as delegated by a RN as agreed by local protocols.

Good attendance record

Able to perform a wide range of duties

  • NVQ Level 2
