Senior Healthcare Assistant (Band 3) Emergency Department
An exciting opportunity to work in the Emergency Department as a Senior Healthcare Assistant.
We have full time vacancy available for motivated Healthcare Assistants to join the Emergency Department team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Nursing team in the day to day provision of patient care.
Main duties of the job
If you enjoy working in a busy, demanding environment and are able to work on your own initiative then this may be the job for you.
Cannulation, Venepuncture, Catheterisation and recording of ECG skills are essential. Training and support will be offered if required.

Person Specification
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TR
Essential
- Sound knowledge in numeracy skills
- Sound knowledge in literacy skills
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Health Care
EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Experience of caring for people who are acutely unwell for a minimum of 1 year with an emergency setting
- Understanding of the role of the Senior Health Care Assistant
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Essential
- Evidence of good communication skills
- Demonstrate an understanding of confidentiality
- Evidence of ability to maintain accurate and legible documentation
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Evidence of ability to maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, patients and visitors
- Evidence of ability to provide cascade training to a group of staff
