As an HCA, youwill be a hugely valuable in supporting our Nursing and Midwifery teams providing care to our patients. Every day will be different and you will work alongside the rest of the team carrying out a wide range of tasks and assisting with care to support the needs of the patients and their families.

Main duties of the job
Day to day, you’ll work under the supervision of our registered staff to help:
- Wash and dress patients
- Monitor and record clinical observations including GCS
- Support patients to eat and drink
- Help patients move around
- Make beds and maintain a clean, safe clinical area
- Talk to patients and their families
- Perform specialised skills such as telemetry monitoring and pre/post operative care
- Manage stock levels for linen and other supplies
The role involves shift work (early shifts, late shifts, long days, nights and weekends) so the ability to work these shifts is essential.However, as an organisation we support flexible working and have both full and part time roles available.
With our comprehensive training and dedicated HCA education team, the HCA role can also lead to a variety of career opportunities. With the right support, those who want to can undertake the necessary training to become our future nursing associates, nurses, and midwives. Career opportunities to develop and progress within neurosurgery: telemetry training, stroke care, high dependency care and other specialised care in Neuro.
