We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team of dedicated friendly Advanced Healthcare Assistants in CT/MRI and Ultrasound at Scunthorpe General Hospital.

Main duties of the job
This role will include working a mixture of shifts including weekdays and weekends so will suit a flexible, highly motivated and enthusiastic person.
Previous experience in aseptic techniques and cannulation would be an advantage, although training in these areas will be provided.
You will be responsible for maintaining the working environment by giving direct clinical and clerical support to the Radiographers and Consultant Radiologists. You will assist in the day-to-day organisation of patients including their appointments, preparation, act as a chaperone and escort patients whilst in the clinical area; prepare clinical rooms and take responsibility for stock rotation and replenishment. As well as working with the Consultant Radiologists in aseptic procedures and cannulating patients in readiness for their CT/MRI and Ultrasound examinations.

Job responsibilities
The post holder will participate in the operational management of the department in conjunction with the Head of Department and other healthcare professionals. The Advanced Healthcare Assistant will maintain effective communication and productive relationships with all stakeholders, upholding the reputation of the directorate and speciality at all times.
The department offers a seven-day service to its stakeholders and it is a requirement that the post holder take part in this rota and any shift systems that are in place.
We have well-developed equipment; 64 slice CT scanners, and 1.5T MRI scanners at each site, and the Trust investment programme continues to demonstrate commitment to service improvement. Scunthorpe’s Blue Sky Imaging Suite opened in August 2012, and is a purpose-built cross-sectional imaging suite, housing a GE Optima 660 64 slice CT scanner, a GE Revolution 64 slice, a GE 450W wide bore 1.5T MRI scanner and a Siemens Sola wide bore 1.5T MRI scanner.
