Job summary

We are looking for a HCA who wishes to develop their skills to work within our busy ophthalmic outpatient department.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career within a speciality that is rapidly expanding, and that requires enthusiastic and motivated people so we can fully support our service requirements.

Main duties of the job

You will be expected to work towards performing Visual Acuity following Induction and relevant training , assisting in our Injection Service and Minor Ops Department , plus supporting all ophthalmic patients and services.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Ideally you will have some experience working within an ophthalmic setting and be proactive towards developing your HCA skills.

You will receive full support from our Ophthalmic Practice Education Facilitator and the Ophthalmic MDT. The role requires completion of our Education and Development program, delivered through an in-house study course. This will allow you to enhance the care you provide to your patients and ensure the ophthalmic service is fully maintained.

Person Specification

Experience in Healthcare

Essential

  • To have experience in a healthcare setting

Desirable

  • To have experience in a hospital setting

Qualifications

Essential

  • NVQ level 2 or above

Desirable

  • Interest in Ophthalmology
  • Phlebotomy skills

Flexible Working

Essential

  • Ability to work flexible working pattenns
