Our hospitals are open 24 hours a day 7 days a week – therefore, we require everyone to be fully flexible across all shift patterns, including weekdays, weekends, nights and bank holidays. We work 12-hour shifts during the day and at night with self rostering used to strike a balance between home life and service needs. The possibility may also exist for the right candidate in this this role to eventually undertake nursing apprenticeship training.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • GCSE or equivalent Maths and English
  • Completion of the Care Certificate within probationary period

Desirable

  • Care Certificate
  • NVQ or equivalent at level 2 in health care

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working with the public

Desirable

  • Experience of hospital and/or ward work
  • Experience of working in a caring environment

Technical Skills Competencies

Essential

  • Basic computer skills
  • Shows an insight into personal care needs
  • Able to work using own initiative and as part of a team

Desirable

  • Demonstrates ability to work in a busy environment and cope when the service is under pressure.
