If you do, we would like to hear from you – as we are currently looking for compassionate and motivated Healthcare Assistants to join our Chalkwell Ward team.

Our friendly Chalkwell Ward team provides care for patients with complex medical and social issues, specialising in patients with Dementia and patients at the end of life. You will get the chance to work closely with the patients and their families to give a high standard of care, working with many specialities and enable a seamless journey for the patient from admission to discharge.

Main duties of the job

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team within the ward or department, to provide high-quality care to patients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.

You will be expected to undertake patient care, under supervision, and working within the Trust’s policies and procedures, to meet the needs of the patients. You will be a trusted voice in your role and will be part of changing and improving the way we care across MSE.

You will get the chance to develop your own skills and knowledge of nursing tasks and progress in your career in line with the Trusts career pathway

Job responsibilities

You will work as an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team to help plan, organise, and facilitate a comprehensive range of individualised, group and one to one activity for the patients the ward.

You will help promote and encourage appropriate, individualised level of patient participation and facilitate patients activities that promote social interaction, self-esteem and help maintain or enhance functional ability.

You will support the multi-disciplinary team in the assessment of patients as well as the ward nursing team to promote the patients mental and physical well-being.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in an environment with changing demands and priorities
  • Good literacy demonstrated through minimal spelling and grammatical errors throughout application

  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting
