Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Band 2 Health Care Support Workers to join the maternity team within Hywel Dda University Health Board.
The role will involve working in the various settings of the Maternity services in Glangwili General Hospital, Carmarthen. These include the Midwifery Led Unit and the Obstetric Unit, which hosts the ante natal and post natal and labour ward. You will also have the opportunity to support the smooth running of the unit by helping with administrative tasks.
There are both full time and part time hours available.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as part of a team of maternity staff and will be required to carry out a range of assigned tasks involving direct and non-direct care for the benefit of the patient and will be in support of and supervised by a Registered Midwife.
This post is of an evolving nature and the job description is based upon a flexible core competency framework that will enable the post holder to develop their role. This role is linked clearly to minimum training requirements providing competency to practice. Following the completion of training and achievement of core competencies they will be expected to deliver a range of basic nursing duties to patients, ensuring that privacy, dignity and respect are maintained at all times.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
