Minimum Educational Qualification

Degree in Microbiology, Chemistry or Food science, Food safety-related studies
Minimum Relevant Work Experience

Minimum 5 years experience in a food safety industry

We are currently looking to hire a Quality Manager for the East and Southern Africa region to join our team in Harare, Zimbabwe. The successful incumbent will be a guardian of food safety ,compliance and the challenger of all functions to drive Nestlé Continuous Excellence in the pursuit of zero defect as the essential base for maintaining consumer trust and preference.

A day in the life of a Quality Manager:
People and know-how: Develop and maintain competences , quality awareness, and commitment to zero defect in the market or business division. Drive team/individual performance ,talent development and employee engagement.

Quality System: Communicate, fully implement and enforce Nestlé Quality Management System requirements in the market or business division

Technical assistance: Assist other departments in the entire value chain and provides them with services necessary to ensure quality in their fields.

Quality auditing and verification: Ensure that a quality system is in place, is efficient and obtains expected results for the Nestlé production facilities, contract manufacturers, suppliers and warehouses or distribution centres.

Root Cause analysis and action plan: Monitor quality performance in the operating companies for opportunities to improve in the quest for zero defect. Lead the market or business division level management review of quality process.

Crisis & Incidents Management: Member of the crisis committee for all product-related crises and incidents. Lead the follow-up of crises/major quality failures.

Quality strategy: Responsible for the development and implementation of the quality strategy throughout the business/division and monitors its enforcement by establishing relevant KPIs.

  • Internal Auditing background essential (FSSE Lead Auditor or ISO 9001)
